training and received his specialty certification in Periodontics in 1977. He became a diplomate in the American Academy of  Periodontology  in 1982. He maintains a private practice in Fishkill, NY as a Periodontist and Implantologist.

Dr. Vilardi has published papers on laser therapy, antibacterial mouth rinses, bone regeneration, and and cosmetic dentistry as it relates to implant technology. He has lectured extensively in the areas of implant and bone regeneration techniques.  He was an Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia University in New York, where he was responsible for the Occlusion and Adjunctive Orthodontic courses from 
1979 - 1989, and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania from 2002-2006.
